Announcement of mergers at the NRC AGM 2011 - 2012

The Northern Refugee Centre AGM for 2011 - 2012 took place on Monday 28 January 2013 from 3.00 pm – 6.00 pm at The Circle, in Sheffield. 

 

Pending mergers with ARKH (Asylum Seekers and Refugees of Kingston Upon-Hull) and BAFR (Bradford Action for Refugees) were announced and these are expected to be formalised in April 2013. ARKH Chair Liz White gave a briefing on the activities of ARKH with Vikki Greenman, Operations Manager of BAFR describing the impact and need for the continued existence of BAFR's work in Bradford and beyond.


The theme for this year was - International Development in Relation to Migration with the guest speaker Professor Jean B Grugel, (Head of Geography, University of Sheffield) & Director of Sheffield Institute for International Development giving insight into migration and global governance.
