£20,858 per annum, 37 hours per week
(Current funding secured to 31st December 2016)

NRC is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join our team at its Sheffield office.
The role forms part of the Big Lottery funded Improving Financial Confidence project being delivered in partnership with Sheffield Citizens Advice, and Sheffield City Council. The project is a new approach to financial inclusion, targeting particular types of first time social housing tenants.

The successful candidate will provide immediate advice to our service users on social housing, integration and income maximisation, social tenancies, assessing high quality loans and grants for setting up home, information and support on bank accounts, setting up utilities and constructing budgets.

Part Time Youth Employment Advisor

Northern Refugee Centre Employment and Education Services

£18-20,000 Dependant on experience (pro-rata)

The Northern Refugee Centre are recruiting for a part time Youth Employment & Education Advisor, 22.5 hours weekly. Covering Bradford, Kirklees and Calderdale.

To expand the capacity of our service to support young migrants across the West Yorkshire region to access employment, education and training, volunteering and work placement opportunities.

This will include delivery of an exciting new partnership project with Your Consortium, funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund. We are looking for people who have the experience, skills and abilities to deliver all of the following areas of work:

1. Project Delivery: To work alongside the Regional Service Delivery Manager to develop the project start up along with the recruitment of eligible beneficiaries into the project.

2. Client Casework: To manage a caseload of individual clients, in line with contractual requirements for the Talent Match/ Your Consortium/ Big Lottery funding streams.

3. Group Work: to deliver group and 1-2-1 sessions to improve young migrants employability skills.

4. Information Gathering and Sharing: To keep informed of new developments and changes in national and local policy affecting client group, particularly with regards to employment, education, training and volunteering.

5. Placements: To support clients to access a range of volunteering and work experience placement opportunities to secure employment or provide valuable up to date work experience.

6. In-Work Support: Work with employers and clients to provide in-work support to encourage job sustainability.

7. Employer Engagement: To work with local employers to identify and broker employment opportunities, Promoting additional training and information on up-skilling new and existing staff.

8. Partnership Work: to work with employers, training providers and other agencies to enhance the support and opportunities available for clients and help identify gaps in provision and potential ways to address these, by liaising with providers within the network

You must meet all the essential criteria listed in the person specification, including: at least two years experience in IAG for learning and work and/or Employment and Skills; experience of working with young people from Migrant backgrounds; experience of managing a caseload of clients; and experience of working with a range of individuals, organisations or employers. Any offer of employment is subject to satisfactory DBS check.
